JERDE celebrated the grand opening of Adana.Town Center, a 60,340 square meter (650,000 square feet) integrated retail and entertainment destination in Adana, Turkey. The project was designed by JERDE and developed by Esas Gayrimenkul.

Articulated with an organic quality and carved aesthetic, the building form features a contrast of solid stone elements punctured by crystals of glass. The solidity of the stone forms are reminiscent of the older buildings in Adana, lending a familiar and timeless feel to the destination. The materials, landscaping, and other architectural details reinforce a strong sense of both permanence and elegance.

"Whenever planning and designing a project of this scale in a fast growing, but historic city, it's necessary for our designs to respect the surrounding architecture and to create a place that matches the look, feel, and spirit of the city," said Simones.

Combining a series of dynamic spaces that offer a variety of experiences, Adana Town Center was designed with maximum flexibility and adaptability in mind, so that the spaces, events, and attractions that make up the public venues can allow the project to evolve over time.
