Cedar Park Town Center

  • Cedar Park, Texas 2001
  • Site Area: 108 acres | Total Building Area: 538,837 sq m

From a pre-1970 population of 125, the Austin suburb Cedar Park today stands at 46,000 residents. To accommodate for continued growth, Parkway Management Corporation created a 400-acre master plan combining a 1,300-home residential community with a town center planned by Jerde to establish a much needed downtown for the emerging city. Jerde's plan offers the conveniences of a city in a walkable environment complete with a city hall, as well as commercial, living and recreational uses surrounding a new lake. The town center features a car-accessible, pedestrian main street that integrates lifestyle retailers, restaurants, entertainment, two hotels, four office structures, and 202 apartments. The plan's vibrant quality is enhanced by non-linear pedestrian paths a generous use of natural amenities and open spaces. In addition to heightening the sense of community, Cedar Park Town Center will give the city an identity inspired by its beautiful location defined by rolling hills, as well as create an urban model for future development.
