Sochi Mandarin

  • Sochi, Russia 2013
  • Total Building Area: 33,000 sqm

Mandarin is conceived to become the prime destination for summer activities and year - round entertainment along the Russian Black Sea within Adler/Sochi. The project encompasses approximately 33,000 square meters of retail entertainment space, including a major outdoor multi-media water attraction with capacity for 1,300 people, and interactive beach activities. Mandarin is designed with direct access to the Adler beach and a pedestrian connection to the adjacent Mzinta River promenade. As the premier entertainment offering, the project delivers a new identity to the entire area of Adler and Sochi as a distinctly communal destination and leisure center, combining a public multi-media water, video and laser show, international and local retail/dining tenants, and nightclub facilities. Mandarin blends traditional beachfront village districts with modern aesthetic sensibilities integrated with unique public spaces. The proximity to the beach is always present through the use of grey finishes reminiscent of the nearby sand and pebbles, while the orange ‘mandarin’ complements and provides a bold icon for the place, including a central observation tower capped by a glowing orange glass top.
