Immersive Las Vegas experience

Collaborating with and inspired by the genius of colorful casino mogul Steve Wynn, JERDE presented a plan for the Fremont Street Experience and was later contracted by the city to formulate an implementation plan. A year later JERDE was hired as the architect by the newly created Fremont Street Experience Company.

In the 1980s, downtown Las Vegas was losing retail and office tenants to the suburbs and gaming revenues to The Strip. The Fremont Street Experience, which not only reversed decline, but out competed the $2.3 billion invested in The Strip.

Entry twilight & project success

The project was an instant success, motivating almost every casino to invest in improvements or expansions, and drawing three bids for the vacant Main Street Casino.
