Dubai Festival Waterfront Centre

International waterfront destination

The Crown Prince General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum created a vision to make Dubai an international destination. In keeping with the vision, Al Futtaim Investments approached Jerde to master plan Dubai Festival City, the largest tourism and commercial project in the Middle East. Jerde's plan for the project, which spans four kilometers along the Dubai Creek, was inspired by the site's convergence of desert and sea and used the natural elements of water and desert to organize its six districts.

One of those districts, Festival Waterfront Centre, was designed by Jerde as the resort-style communal center of Dubai Festival City. Festival Waterfront Centre, which is the only waterfront retail and entertainment center in Dubai, uses water to provide a sense of movement, excitement and refreshment.

Key pedestrian paths and gathering spaces are organized along the water, creating a new center of energy.
