World Market Center

  • Las Vegas, Nevada 2005
  • Site Area: 57 acres | Total Building Area: 120,773 sq m.

World Market Center is the largest showroom complex in the world for the home and hospitality furnishings industry, serving domestic and international sellers and buyers. Jerde's master plan vision delivers a dynamic new experience for the industry with a collage of geometric shapes and forms assembled as a fully integrated state-of-the-art showroom- campus.

Upon completion, the complex will encompass eight buildings totaling 12 million square-feet of various showroom and convention center space, complemented with outdoor water features, courtyards, and enclosed skywalks connecting the various buildings. The  10-story phase one building contains 1.3 million square feet of permanent showrooms designed with a progressive approach that creates an efficient venue for exhibitors, retailers and visitors. Highlighted by an iconic half-sphere shaped titanium and glass faзade cradled by the structure's basic geometric form, the architecture evokes the imagination and innovation associated with the industry it houses. The steel facade is encircled and cut through by sweeping arcs of glass that offer glimpses into the main interior space, and at night exude rays of light to create a glowing icon. The project creates a new landmark for the area with its iconic forms and has the potential to serve as the cornerstone for downtown redevelopment in Las Vegas.
