We live for big ideas.
Our team has spent over 40 years perfecting how we collaborate with our teams, our clients, and the community to offer thoughtful, creative solutions in every project we work on. We aim to surprise and delight by pushing the limits of what is possible.
Its all about the details.
When you work with JERDE, you're entering a world where outside-the-box is not only encouraged, but celebrated. The unknown excites us – we take unique ideas to the drawing boards and consistently dream up ways to make them bigger. We take a hands on approach – pinning papers to walls, building physical models, and sketching out what's in our heads. We're committed to our bespoke process, while working as your partner every step of the way.
A space for dreaming.
Our headquarters is located in The CalEdison building, a historic landmark of Downtown Los Angeles. Similar to our process, our sole design space is where raw meets polished. Exposed concrete and warm wood paneling acts as a serene, neutral backdrop for any project. We rely on open, collaborative spaces for prime idea generation.
You'll notice a smattering of papers, books, and models spread across desks of all sizes, conference rooms, and "war room" studios – that's our style. Our HQ also features an extensive archival library and a fully stocked model shop. We give our team members everything they need to dive into the universe of each project.

Jon Jerde
Our founder started JERDE architecture firm in 1977 to build spaces that amplified and celebrated the ordinary person. While many architects simply concentrate on the beauty of the building, Jerde was a pioneer in recognizing that the human experience is everything – and that it should come first. At the start of each project, he would envision what he wanted people to feel in the finished environment, and draw out detailed storyboards to match. By taking the time to sketch out a visitor's narrative, he'd set an electrifying foundation for the project as a whole.
Many described him as the "anti-Gehry" in the way that he unapologetically injected the magic of bold, flashy entertainment into his work. As he constructed thrilling, multi-leveled worlds, he revolutionized not only the retail experience, but the way that we now expect common spaces to both captivate and localize our communities. Today we continue Jon's work by prioritizing the space between – above all, we champion the hearts and minds of everyday people.
