Retail as community destination

The Adana Town Center is an integrated retail and entertainment project combining a controlled series of spaces with varied experiences that will truly create a unique destination. The flexibility and adaptability in planning and the diversity in spaces, events, and attractions will define public venues that will allow the project to evolve over time, providing value to the project while creating a catalyst for the surrounding area as the premier attraction for the City of Adana and the region.

Project Location and Vision

Adana is an ancient city in Southern Turkey with a long history of trade and commerce, which also served as one of the gateways from Europe to the Middle East. Today Adana is a center for regional trade and is rich in agriculture. Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard, on which our project sits, acts as an economic border, dividing the North and South regions, with the North developed with hotels, cultural centers, and commercial buildings, and the South the home of historic marketplaces

The sunken plaza is reminiscent of the classic town square, enlivened with shops & cafes, and bustling with activities.

Articulated with an organic quality and carved aesthetic, the building form features a contrast of solid stone elements punctured by crystals of glass. The solidity of the stone forms are reminiscent of the older buildings in Adana, lending a familiar and timeless feel to the destination—a place that has been re-inhabited and enlivened for today, reflected in the materials, land-scaping and details reinforcing the sense of permanence and elegance.

Interactive and flexible space is programmed with events year-round that will draw people back again and again.
