Bellagio
A Las Vegas icon
Steve Wynn, then chairman of Mirage Resorts, had a single objective for Bellagio: simply design "the world's finest hotel" - a place that would attract those who normally bypass Las Vegas for exclusive European resorts. So JERDE answered with the definitive Las Vegas resort. Bellagio set a new standard of luxury along the Las Vegas Strip. It also paid record dividends.

Responding to our client's desire for an Italian aesthetic, Bellagio, which is inspired by its namesake on Lake Como in Italy, contains a Mediterranean village of restaurants and shops in front of a man-made lake with elaborate fountains.
Styled after historic European arcades, the retail promenade has 50-foot-high domed rotundas with carved plaster ceilings and glass skylights.
The scale, composition, and proportions of the architecture were all carefully studied by the design team to serve as an effective backdrop to the resort's famous dancing fountains.
From the moment they set foot on the property, visitors are immersed in a richly detailed environment, creating a romantic, elegant, and intense experience
The Conservatory is an arcaded interior garden that connects the western arm of the resort to the lobby. It is lined with dining areas, a spa, and the art gallery, which houses Steve Wynn's $300-million collection of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art.
